Dear Visitor:
It has been nearly 100 years since a group of involved local citizens and doctors broke ground, September 22, 1918, on the hospital that would later become Community Medical Center. I don’t know if they realized how many lives would be touched by the step they took that day, but I’m sure they had a sense that they were doing something important, something that would make a difference for their community, their children and their children’s children. We, today, are the beneficiaries of their vision.
Over the years, many families have trusted us with the care of their loved ones, and many doctors, nurses, therapists, technicians, practitioners, professionals, clergy and others have lent their hands and hearts to our mission. We are both humbled by this legacy and inspired to carry it forward.
For the past decade, it has been my privilege to serve as the administrator and chief executive for Community Medical Center. In this time, we have seen construction of a new hospital, growth in services offered, new physicians, and recognition as one of the strongest rural hospitals in the nation. The most important achievement, however, is knowing that so many have trusted us to be with them at their most vulnerable moments, when they are weak, or sick or scared.
